कालभैरवाष्टकम् (Kaala Bhairavashtakam)
“Deva rājasekharaṁ sadā vibhuṣitaṁ, bhukti-mukti dāyakaṁ prabhuṁ trilokya-pūjitam।
Kālbhairavam bhaje tam adbhutaṁ dayārasam, vināyakaṁ vināśakam navātmabhūtakam॥”

Reciting this Kaal Bhairav Ashtak is believed to remove fear, destroy sins, and grant spiritual liberation (moksha).

According to Skanda Purana, when Lord Brahma grew egoistic, Lord Shiva appeared as Kaal Bhairav and removed one of Brahma’s five heads to humble his pride. As a result, Kaal Bhairav carried the sin of Brahma Hatya and wandered till he reached Kashi, where his sin was absolved. Hence, Kashi became his eternal abode, and he was appointed the Kotwal (Protector) of the city.

It is believed that no one can stay in Kashi without the permission of Baba Kaal Bhairav.

Guardian Deity of Kashi: Without his permission, even death (Yamraj) cannot take one from Kashi.

Fear Destroyer: Worshipping Lord Kaal Bhairav removes fears, black magic, and evil energies.

Karma Cleaner: A visit here is said to dissolve bad karmas and grant peace to wandering souls.
