Das Mahavidya Temple

Das Mahavidya Temple

Stuti & Sloka For The Temple

महाविद्ये महाकालि महालक्ष्मि महेश्वरी।
विद्यां देहि महाभागे सर्वविद्यां प्रकाशय॥

Each Mahavidya is a gateway to inner power and transformation. Chanting Das Mahavidya Mantras, Devi Kavach, and Argala Stotra here leads to divine protection, fearlessness, and spiritual elevation.

Story of The Temple

The origin of the Mahavidyas comes from Devi Sati, who revealed her ten forms to Lord Shiva to demonstrate the all-encompassing nature of the Divine Feminine. Each form represents a unique cosmic function—ranging from creation, preservation, destruction, to liberation and concealed knowledge.

In Kashi, this temple is considered one of the most powerful centers for Shakti Upasana, where all ten Mahavidyas reside under one roof a rare and potent configuration in Hindu Tantra.
