Story
Spiritual Significance of the Day
Batuk Bhairav Jayanti is one of the most spiritually charged occasions in the Sanatan Dharma calendar, observed as the divine appearance day of Batuk Bhairav, the youthful form of Lord Kal Bhairav — the fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva. Batuk Bhairav represents protection, fearlessness, and the guarding of dharma. As the Kshetrapal (protector deity) of Kashi, His presence is invoked at the beginning of every significant spiritual activity in the city.
On this day, sadhaks, tantriks, aghoris, and Vedic scholars across India worship Batuk Bhairav for divine protection, success in sadhana, removal of obstacles, and to ward off negative energies, black magic, legal troubles, and planetary doshas. Special worship, including the Bhairav Ashtakam, Bhairav Kavach, and Deep Daan, is performed to gain His blessings.
Feeding Brahmacharis and Ved Pathshala students on this powerful day becomes a rare punya-karma. According to Bhairav Tantra and ancient texts, Annadaan to Gurukul Brahmacharis on Bhairav Jayanti pleases Lord Bhairav instantly, as it supports both Vidya (knowledge) and Dharma (righteousness). This act is said to eliminate karmic debt, grant stability in life, and protect the devotee from sudden dangers.
By participating in Annadaan Seva on Batuk Bhairav Jayanti, devotees align themselves with divine protection, ancestral blessings, and the upliftment of eternal Vedic values.
