Story
Significance of Kanya Bhojan Seva in Navratri
In the Devi Bhagavatam, it is said: “Kanya puja para devi puja” – meaning worship of young girls is equal to worshipping the Goddess Herself. During Navratri, nine forms of Maa Durga, also known as the Nav Durga, are worshipped. Among all rituals, Kanya Bhojan (Kanjak Puja) is considered the most auspicious, as young girls (aged 2–10) are revered as living embodiments of Maa Shakti.
By offering food, vastra, and gifts to Nav Kanyas and a young Batuk (symbol of Lord Shiva), devotees receive the complete blessings of Maa Durga, protection from doshas, and fulfillment of desires.
About Nav Kanya Bhojan Seva in Kashi
From 22nd September to 1st October 2025, Kashi Archan Foundation is organizing daily Nav Kanya Bhojan Seva across temples of Maa Durga, Maa Baglamukhi, Maa Tara, Maa Dhumavati, and Kaal Bhairav Temple premises.
Hundreds of Kanyas (2–10 years) will be offered Poojan, Bhojan, Vastra, and Dakshina.
A sacred Kumkum & Akshat Tilak ritual will be performed before offering satvik food.
Devotees can participate online by sponsoring Bhojan & Vastra Seva for Kanyas.
Scriptural Reference
“Kumari pujaya devi sarvadevamayo bhavet,

— Devi Purana
(Meaning: By worshipping Kumaris, one worships all the Devas. Therefore, Kumari Puja must always be performed with devotion.)
