Procedure of Shivling Pratishtha Puja
Preparation
The temple is thoroughly cleaned and sanctified with Gangajal and Vedic chants. A holy mandap is set up. The Shivling, Nandi, and other elements are placed on red/yellow sacred cloth, decorated with flowers and rangoli.
Invocation
The ceremony begins with Ganapati Pujan, followed by Sankalp, and then the invoking of Lord Shiva through Shiva Dhyan Mantras, Sudarshan Sukt, and Rudra Abhishek chants.
Offerings
The Shivling is bathed with milk, curd, ghee, honey, Gangajal, sugarcane juice, and Vibhuti. Following this, Agni Homa is performed with offerings of samidha and ghee. Prana Pratishtha mantra is chanted to infuse life-force into the Shivling.
Aarti & Blessings
A grand Maha Aarti is performed with conch shells, bells, and dhoop-deep. Devotees receive prasadam and blessings. Daily puja rituals commence from this point onward in the temple.
